04/02/2007 - Well, here I am in TN. The move has gone pretty well so far. One of the first things I did was pick up a fishing license, as it had been ten years or so since I had been fishing. This is something I needed to "Catch" up on, So I went last Saturday morning.
I got out to the lake (A gorgeous lake) real early and threw my hook complete with a Canadian Nightcrawler in the water, and didn't catch a damn thing! I stuck with that plan for an hour or so, and decided to go ahead and throw a good 'ole "Crappie Jig" on the line instead. My uncle taught me how to fish with this lure when I was a kid, and I always had good luck with it. They are also simple, cheap, and a hell of a lot less messy than a big fat Nightcrawler.
That did the trick! It wasn't fifteen minutes before I landed my first "Tennessee" Large Mouth Bass! Being the sentimental guy I am, I took a picture of myself with the little girl using my phone camera. Not only my first TN. fish, but my first fish in ten years! After I took the picture, I let the little Bass off the hook and put her back in the water as she was a bit under size (Illegal!), also, I hadn't planned on any kind of a "Fish Fry" that evening. I told the little gal I would see her later this summer after she puts on a few pounds, and she gurgled up at me as she swam off. I think I heard her

say "In your dreams".
Anyhow, I fished for a good eight
hours or so, as It was a nice day, about
seventy five degrees, overcast, with a
bit of a breeze. I wound up getting a
pretty tingly sunburn on my arms, and
on the back of my neck, but it was well
worth it. I wound up catching nine or ten
fish in all, with some of them being of
decent size! I hope to meet all of them
again this summer.
After the fishing was done, I went up
the road to check out the sail boat
rentals. My Dad taught me how to
sail as a kid. Sailing is another skill I
would like to brush up on.
I found a nice marina complete with a yacht club, and a cool little hang out called
"The Cove Restaurant". I went inside and had a basket of Southern Fried Catfish and Fries (Good Stuff!), and a couple of beers. When I wasn't chatting with the nice people who were running the place, there was some great blues music playing over the sound system in the form of one of my listening favorites, Delbert McClinton!
I had a great day all the way around. For anyone interested, this is me and
my life as of late, and I must say that I have no complaints. Until next time,
                 Take Care!
        Always, Brad
